105 Martinez, Oct. 30 1909 Dear Mr Johnson With formal acceptance of membership in the Academy I send today photograph
of myself as you requested should it be too large return it Ill try to find a smaller one. I'm still stupid with this miserable
headachy grippe see no way to get to Washington this winter much as I would enjoy seeing you. A hollow in the snowy Sierra
is a more likely place. Colby is calling hastily for copy tho I can hardly put two Hetch Hetchy sentences together as yet.
Heaven be with you dear Johnson. Well or ill, here or there I am ever faithfully your friend John Muir
