LARNED THACHER ASSOCIATE HEADMASTERS NORDHOFF, CALIFORNIA, May 26,1909. My Dear Mr. Muir: We are sorry not to have
you here. I believe as a matter of fact we oould give you a more undisturbed place to do your writing in than you can find
at home. If you ever are willing to put it to a test, juit drop in on us. I saw a picture of you and Mr. John Burroughs at
Mrs. Hooker's, in Los Angeles, the other day, and I want a copy of it. Will you send me the name of the photographer, if you
are willing to have me get one.? You might have been Socrates and Plato discussing the meaning and origin of all things;there
