Washington Jany. 24, 1901. My dear Mr Muir.: Your carload of California delicacies has arrived and quite overwhelmed
us. My wife wonders if there are any nuts left in the State And such delicious nuts too The children take to them like squirrels.
When we opened the nut bags Mrs Merriam said, now we must get some fine raisins to go with them . And when I opened the box
and found those perfectly superb and luscious raisins, and the delicious Sauterne too - I'll not try to tell you what any
