2 I have nothing great to write yet, I can at least say that business is improving somewhat and the prospect somewhat less
depressing--and now that winter is behind us and spring before us there is promise of better things. What hope and cheer comes
with the springtime. The winter here has been very changeful, extreme cold and unusual mildness following each other, and
causing much sickness; but amidst all the sickness on every hand and on almost every household, we have been preserved in
health 3 and strength, so you see we much to be thankful for. The children are very well and growing as fast as possible.
I had a little sick spell a few weeks ago. The first since I came to this house, and Ethel met the emergency wonderfully She
not only cooked and waited on the little ones but waited on me too. So you see I am not entirely alone. The sweet promise,
