Tuscaloosa, Alabama Oct. 5. 1898 Dear Helen. I got telegram from Huntsville yesterday glad to know you are well. We
had a fine trip on Black Warrior River saw canebrakes magnificent flowers trees the weather is hot. We can get no further
south on account of Yellow fever. Now we turn North by Birmingham Chattanooga Lexington. Will be in New York in a week or
so have letters sent there to Jamaica Plains. We leave here in a few minutes. The streets are grand oak illegible trees Willows
