Description:
Color slide showing the back of a pack of cyclists turning a corner in front of a mass of spectators during the Men's Cycling
Road Race of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. The cyclists are exiting O'Neill Road and turning onto Marguerite Parkway in Mission
Viejo, California. O'Neill Road was later named Olympiad Road in commemoration of this Olympic event. The spectators are packed
tightly on a slope that leads up to the backs of homes. The slope has scattered trees on it, so there are trees among the
crowd. There are two banners hanging from the houses at the top of the slope. On the top right of the photograph, there are
spectators viewing the race from the roof of a house. On the left side of the photograph is a person riding on the back of
a motorcycle who is holding a videotape camera and presumably filming the race. At the top of the slide is a label with "84-008,
Frame 183" typed on it. At the bottom of the slide is written "camjl 229" in pencil and, in typescript, "17, Jul84H9."
