HARVESTING HOPS, EARLY 1900s. An industry that helped make the Dublin - Pleasanton area famous was the cultivation of hops.
In 1893, E.R. Lilienthal purchased 300 acres of land situated between the two towns. The hop yard is set out with 6 by 6
foot poles, 16 feet high, and 42 feet apart. In each row between the poles are six rows of vines. Page 55, Images of America
