Louis and Adolphine Gunther residence, located at 235 South Olive Street, Orange, California, 2003. Image shows front view
of two-story Craftsman home, with the second story recessed above the first, originally designed and constructed in 1920 for
Louis D. and Adolphine Gunther by the Orange Contracting and Milling Company. Double, front-facing gables form the first
story and are covered in arroyo stone. The frontmost gable forms the entry porch overhang and is supported by tapered arroyo
stone piers. A large fixed window is flanked by two narrow double hung windows. A photograph of the home was featured on
page 8 of "Beautiful Orange Homes," a promotional brochure from the early 1920s that featured examples of design and construction
by Orange Contracting & Milling Company. House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
