big Washington trees Martinez, July 17, 1897 My dear Mr Lukens, I am going north soon into the woods with Prof. Sargent
I write now to ask you to send me particular directions how to find those '400 or 500' feet trees you told me about on Puget
Sound. We mean to visit measure them. Also send specimen cones or leaves or both of that Paton Hemlock you saw in the San
