August 12 Dear friend Mrs Osborn Your kindness is endless Many waters cannot quench it- not even Avalanche Lakes or Amazons
I'm so glad yon are all enjoying your mountain trip. The day your letter from 8500 above arrived, news from Cook made me hurry.
The Dennis Rails this morning, the 12th instead of l5th. Nevertheless the books is triumphantly done and in the publishers
hands while I'm in Virginia's who in genuine Osborn style is making all kind arrange-ments imaginable to launch me straight
for my way. So that in an hour or two I'll be fairly off. But as to Taft and Fetch Hetchy I could do nothing for want of
time before leaving. Later however I may manage it possibly through the Sierra Club My address will be Para. Brazil C/o
Booth Steamship Co. Goodby, Love to you all John Muir05097
