letterhead 01239 Sept. 10 1886 John Muir Martinez Cal Dear Brother: Herewith you will find the deed from William D.
Brown and wife to you for the house 909. Lydia Ave which I got a few days since from the Registers office. The house is worth
cash 13.000. and now there is an Incumbrance of 7000. . 2000. of which I can pay on the 5th of October. It is due then but
perhaps we might extend it but as it is drawing 10 it should be paid, and as I am illegible ealing so much if you can spare
2000. I would like to you send it to Mr. Roy? I might not have money out at that thime altho I expect to now, and again I
may sell the house or trade it for a vacant lot close in before the payment comes due, I simply wish to not get stuck in any
corner, and in case I do not need to pay it I can send it back. I cannot send a statement now stricken word owning to the
fact of our not yet having secured the Quit Claim from some heirs
