Description:
Craftsman Bungalow, located at 1295 East Palmyra Avenue, Orange, California, 2003. Image shows front view of the house,
originally designed and constructed ca. 1920 for the rancher, August W. Meyer and his wife, Marie, by the Orange Contracting
and Milling Company. This is a one-story bungalow with a double, front-facing gable roof and lap siding on the facades. Elephantine
piers on concrete bases support the entry porch covered by the forwardmost roof, and a three-section transom, with side louvers
and a center window, is set into the gable face. A photograph of the home was featured on page 38 of "Beautiful Orange Homes,"
a promotional brochure from the early 1920s that featured examples of design and construction by Orange Contracting & Milling
Company.
