Martinez, California March 28/9 My dear Mr Kip, How have you all got through this grim Grippy winter? What with sickness
in the family fighting for forest preservation Ive made scarce any headway with the new book I'm trying to write which I hoped
to get out next fall. Mrs Muir has been laid up with Grippe nearly three months but is now recovering slowly I hope to get
something done. The Osborns talk of the Yosemite trip for next May or June. Can't you come to Cal after a sojourn in Colorado?
Ive always regretted not seeing you last summer fall I hope to be free next time I'm on your side the Continent. I'd like
ever so much to be at Berts wedding but I see no way in that direction just now. Anyhow our Alaska days were good gloriously
memorable. With best wishes Ever Sincerely Yours John Muir
