E. January 24, 1905 My dear Mr. Muir: Yours of January 6th is at hand. Why will you not let us see one of the chapters
of your book on The Yosemite and Other Sierra Valleys ? It will probably serve our purpose, and its publication, accompanied
with a notice that the book was forthcoming would help the sale of the book. If your publisher does not object- and if he
is a wise man he will not - please let us see two or three of the chapters from which we can make our choice. Yours sincerely,
illegible Mr. John Muir, Martinez, California. 03517
