Martinez, June 1, 1914. Dear Mrs Parsons: I thank you for your kind offer to finish the Alaska book. I think the work
can be arranged to suit your convenience. In the meantime I am rewriting the greater part of it, little or no time will be
lost though you may not be able to come up here for a month or so. I talked over with Wanda the Colby plan of taking you
on the club outing and she agreed with me that it would be better everyway for you to come here spend the time at your disposal
in quiet work instead of going on a hard Sierra trip where everybody every landscape would incessantly recall your loss. Wanda
sends you a hearty invitation to stay with her as long as your plans allowed, while you could go home at any time or every
night as may seem best. Ever your friend John Muir
