Maples, are planted in Portage it looks like a forest the sun beams are pouring through the gree uellow leaves the birds are
singing. It is all delightful. I saw two scarlet tanagers this morning red as illegible fire, more robins than I could count
getting breakfast on a mulberry tree before the door They are tame because they are not disturbed by cats or dogs or guns.
Four robins on the lawn were within 5 steps of my feet as I sat on the veranda. The tanagers are so red I think they would
