Pacific Grove, Calif April 19. 1908, John Muir, Martinez Cal. Dear Friend, I am here visiting David, and expect
to get up your way before long. I intend to stop at San Jose, and Modesto, each a few days, on my way, and perhaps at San
Francisco also. Let me know where to find you, and if you intend to be absent from home for any length of time within the
