Description:
To Stop a Police State:The Case for Community Control of Police, a pamphlet written and produced by The Red Family, pp 38-39. The article focused on the York beating. The Red Family was a collective of radicals who lived in three houses on Ashbury. Members included Robert Scheer and Tom Hayden, who were both expelled from the group. The commune, which founded the Blue Fairyland Nursery School, organized neighborhood activities and prepared for the revolution to come. Melinda, York's second wife, spent much of her time with the free clinic and was a member of the Red Family.Publisher:
