d last week. I answer at the earliest moment possible. I have not be able to learn of any efforts made to induce our Legislature
to give up the Yosemite, except my own attempt (which was a failure) to get Senator Goucher to handle the subject. I have
received no reply from him in answer to my letter, no doubt because he is unwilling to have any writing of his on that subject
in any body s hands. I probably made a mistake in sending to Robinson a copy of my letter to Goucher and the bill of recession
that I drafted. Robinson appears to have posted off to Sacramento, and to have met with a rebuff from Goucher. Robinson ought
to have kept himself away. He could do no good there, but was bound to do harm, no matter how excellent his intentions. Our
Sierra Club 06394
