Autobiographies and Reminiscences of California Pioneers, p.17-19, Vol. 1. This is a typed transcript, bound into a volume,
of the member's autobiographical reminiscence created as an institutional record for the Society of California Pioneers.
The transcription includes a reference to a photograph of the member in a set of bound volumes, but there is no longer a photograph
of this member in our collection. This biography contains a Genealogy chart of the Abadie family. Information regarding Guillaume
Abadie's journey to California is also provided, including the name of the ship he traveled on and dates of travel. The period
of Abadie's life covered by this account is from April 1848 to December 1899.

Autobiography & Reminiscence of Guillaume Abadie, San Francisco, 1901. The Society of California Pioneers
Guillaume Abadie was born in France, October 5, 1823. He left France in April of 1848. He went to Valparaiso, Chile, and
from there to Callao, Peru. He took passage at Callao in destination of California on board the Peruvian vessel "Sencion".
The vessel wrecked at San Pedro. From San Pedro, having lost all of his belongings he went to Los Angeles. From there he
went to Santa Barbara, and then to San Francisco. In March of 1850, Mr. Abadie opened a general merchandise store in Santa
Barbara in partnership with Jerome Gaucheron. In 1868, he left Santa Barbara and went to San Bernardino Ranch (Monterey County)
to raise stock and plant grains. After many years of dry season he lost all his stock and the produce of his fields. He left
San Bernardino Ranch in 1899 and moved to San Francisco with his family
