MY POST-OFFICE ADDRESS IS MY TELEGRAPH ADDRESS IS MY EXPRESS ADDRESS IS UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE BUREAU
OF FORESTRY Pasadena, Cal. July 10, 1905. Mr. John Muir, Martiney, cal. Dear, Sir:- We were sorely grieved to learn
of Mrs. Muirs serious illness and your valued letter saying she is hopefully better is a comfort. I sincerely hope no complications
will set in, and that she may speedily recover and I hope with all that Helen will not Suffer a relaps. She seemed to improve
so fast on the desert that I could imagine I saw her, a year hense, strong and robust like Wanda, she, I am sure, will be
well and strong again. You are more than Kind to say we afforded you pleasure while at San Andreas, I assure you are pleasure
was greater by far, and in addition was of great benefit to us, from point of knowledge gained, no one can be with you and
not be helped. All you have ever said to me and all I have read of your writings is indelibly written upon my memory. Mrs.
Jones has a grand lot of photos of the trip, she beats her Father badly. Several of yours are excellent, which you will see
when she gets time to print and send then to you. She and Lotie started, yesterday for Idyllwild for a months stay, I go up
the 12th for a week, I can not leave my work any longer at present. 03589
