John, Your letter has been received, and it made me glad to see your handwriting once more and glad again to know of your
pleasure in going over the old ground, studying and working with all the old enthusiasm, and finishing the truths wrought
out so long ago, made doubly clear by the vast experience gained through the studies of later years. But truly John I thought
that now you are growing old you would have done a little better by yourself than live on crackers and sleep without a covering.
In regard to Joanna's affairs, I think she is getting along pretty comfortably. I have not heard of any special need since
she received the last money you sent her. She said when she received it, that she could pay up all her debts and have something
over also that she intended to try to get along without running up any more bills. Of course, she has to be careful, as money
is not very plentiful, but she seems to be able to get what she needs. She was here and staid 02035
