Mart. Cal, June 4, 1904 Dear Gannett: I was in Manila a little over a month ago, felt mighty lonely long-faced when after
many inquiries I learned you had gone. Captain Ahern however took me in hand entertained me right royally, taking me across
the Bay up a mountain into the pure wild forest. Also with Captain Penn up the railway showed maps etc Met lots of good fellows
at the Army Navy Club. Thanks for Cigars. When are you coming out, this summer I hope. Let me hear from you, 03374
