DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY WASHINGTON D. C. February 17, 1900 Mr. John Muir, Martinez,
California, My dear Muir: I have your note of the 12th and am glad to hear that you are still alive. We have been looking
for you all winter, but you have failed to put in an appearance. I hope you have net forgotten that you have a home here.
I shall follow that pamphlet which I sent yen Vita a volume of the report of which that Is a separate very see. With kindest
