readily believe we encountered some very fine wildness which I hope will flavor the Century for centuries to come. We have
just returned from these excursions. Mr. Johnson expects to be in Chico in about a week from this date - to see you I trust

But I am far behind with my writing fear I will not be able to accept. Ever since our last meeting at the Occidental I have
been a happier man in seeing Mrs Bidwell well again as far above the danger that threatened here health as any of us mortals
