From the Desperdicio Contestatario a las Recompensas por Defender una Tierra Plana--Graciela Ovejero Exhibition curated by
Patricio Chavez at Centro Cultural de la Raza (February 2-March 11, 1990). Ovejero is an Argentine artist active in the San
Diego area. A large rectangle has been mounted on two pillars and covered with strips of cloth in various colors. Branches
have been painted and hung on its surface. A pile of two hundred (or more) white shoes lie along the bottom of the rectangle
in a row. A tree trunk, painted red, is in the foreground.
