Full title:Edward R. Okamoto, Issei, who had his own leather-goods business in Los Angeles prior to evacuation, is operating
a gold stamping machine in the New York plant of a leather goods manufacturer. Mr. Okamoto was evacuated with his wife and
their 7-year-old son Paul in May 1942 to the Santa Anita Assembly Center. During the following September they went to the
Gila River Relocation Center, where Mr. Okamoto was a senior warehouse steward. Mr. Okamoto relocated to New York in May 1944
