Full title:While visiting his war buddy, Pfc. Charles P. Carroll, 2102 S. Central Park, Chicago, Pfc. Noboru Hokame met some
of the Japanese American girls employed in the WRA office in Chicago. They are (from left to right) Emi Detemoto, formerly
of Suisun, California, and Gila River Relocation Center; Marvel Maeda, formerly of Imperial Valley, California, and Colorado
Relocation Center; Helen Suzuki, formerly of Portland, Oregon, and Minikoda Relocation Center; Tama Nakamoto, formerly of
San Francisco, California, and Topaz Relocation Center; Tomi Fujimura, formerly of Seattle, Washington, and Heart Mountain
Relocation Center and Midori Makimoto, formerly of Loomis, California. Pfc. Hokame, who wears the Purple Heart with an oak
leaf cluster for wounds he received in Italy and France, was born in Hawaii. Since he could not go home on his convalescent
furlough, Pfc. Carroll invited him to be his guest at his family's home in Chicago recently.<lb/> Photographer: Iwasaki, Hikaru<lb/>
