Title:
Aftermath, 1886 Fire in Tulare, Calif.
Description:
"Looking east to the 100 block of Front Street (later South J Street) from the old Southern Pacific Railroad Depot in Tulare,
one can see the aftermath of the 1886 town fire. The donor's notes state, ""The town of Tulare after the fire. French Hotel
is present where the Maxon Hotel later stood. At left is the southeast corner of Tulare and J where Kidd was in 11932. Shoenemann
was in the Kaiser Building. A. P. Hall, jeweler, to right of Tony Schenk's barber shop, was a half-brother of Perry Alverson.
He at the time of the fire was in the Kessing Building. The shack in the upper left corner on the S.P. right of way was temporary
quarters for Lew Schoenamann."" (Photo courtesy of Frank LattT)"
