Description:
Handwritten letter from Kazue Murakishi to [Afton] Nance, 1942, July 28. July 28, 1942 Dear Mrs Nance Here I am in Poston Arizona. We all got here on the 17th of July. We left Lindsey
on the 16th of July. The first thing we did when we got here was that we all went to the main office to get orders. Our
room No. is 9D. In each barrack there is four or three rooms. Our room is the first room of one barrack. In one block there
is about 15 house. How I hate this weather out here. We had three dust storms so far. After the dust storm it rained for
about three minutes. It is so hot out here that some peoples got sick from the heat. In each block there is couple of
bath houses. My sisters all work in the cooking room. The boys and girls from sixteen year’s of age have to work. All I
do is sit around home, or go walking around with Sadayo. O’Yes! the houses are made out of wood with tar paper over it.
In this camp No. two there is about three or two store. Which sales all kind of things. O’ I wish I was in Palos Verdes
now. The weather would be nice and cool. Out here it is so hot that we all hate is old weather out here. Don’t I wish
the war was over so I could see all my firends again. There is three large camps in all. One two and three. We are all
in Camp two. Mrs Nance did you get the snap shot pictures? I am hoping to see them all. Rits said that she would be glad
to receive a letter from you. Here is her address Camp two block 226 bldg 11 apartment C. Poston Arizona. Give my best
regards to everybody. P/S I would be glad to hear from you again. Sincerely yours, Kazue Murakishi
