Description:
Handwritten letter from Mizuye Hirose to [Afton] Nance, 1942 Jun 30.June 30, 1942 Dear Mrs. Nance, We were surely glad to see you and also Miss Pennekamp. If the boys had registered they
were surely to have their diploma but as you know them they are too busy playing. I am sure they will recieve it. I hope
your mother and father are getting better by the hour. I read in the Times Sunday that 432 Americans are being exchange at
South Africa with the Japanese from United States I hope your nephew is among them. I am sorry we put you in trouble ordering
the things we ordered. The amount is not quite right for there is still crisco and umbrella. So here is some money to even
things up, I hope. We surely enjoyed those Cherries. They were very delelious. Your future home surely sounds like a
sweet home. Magnolia, is it because there are rows of magnolia trees on the road side? I really don’t know about Mr. Yazaki.
The hearing was done alphabetically so Mr. Yazaki’s was done about one or two weeks later than fathers. I am sure he will
be release in the nearest future. Mother wish to Thank you very much for gaving Mutsuo a gift and Mutsuo is sure pleased
with it. Most sincerely Mizuye Hirose
