Description:
Handwritten letter from Paul H. Kusuda to [Afton] Nance, 1942, May 5. May 5, 1942 Dear Mrs. Nance: Thank you very much for your charming letter. Your answering was so prompt that
I was surprised. No doubt, the school board doesn’t “work you like a dog.” As soon as possible, I shall try to frame
a suitable reply. However, at the present time, I’m just cogitating and stuff. This big bundle of letters and postals (ten
in all) might serve to acquaint you with some of the conditions at Camp Manzanar. By the way Shizuo Hori’s address is :
MR. SHIZUO HORI B1 -- 6 –2 OWENS VALLEY RECEPTION CENTER MANZANAR, CALIFORNIA Thus far, I haven’t told
him to write to you, but I shall. In the meantime, please write to him. I’m sure that he would appreciate it a great deal.
When you finish reading the letters, please return them to me as I am going to save each little correspondence to show to
my great, great, great, (etc) grand-children. Thanks again. Sincerely yours, Paul H. Kusuda
