Description:
Handwritten letter from Kazue Murakishi to Afton Nance, 1942 August 14. August 14, 1942 Dear Mrs Nance, Thanks for the interesting letter. Yes. I have heard a plan for a school.
The school out here in Poston Camp is going to start Oct 1st 1942. We are all going to studies in the Mess Halls and Recreation
Hall until the school is built. They are working very hard. From the 9th grade is in high school. There is five subjects.
Three of them is required courses (such as English, Social Studies, Physical Education, and part-time work. There is two
elective courses. I am taking Algebra and Arts and Crafts. Yes. We have the Press Bulletion. Here is a copy of it for
you. Well here is the stamp you enclosed for me. Some of the men are carpenter. Most of the men’s are at home doing little
works at home. I am going to sewing school at block 215. 8 to 11 o’clock. The first thing I am planning to make is a dress.
Boy, But it sure is hard to get the material now. Please write again. Sincerely yours Kazue Murakishi
