Description:
Interior portrait photograph of Fig Tree John, a well known Cahuilla tribal leader. According to Barker Family scrapbooks
his real name is listed as Captain Juanito Razon Agua Dulce Tuba. He was reported to have been at one time a scout for U.S.
soldiers. Fig Tree John was a familiar figure in Banning, often sitting in front of the Coplin House after a long pilgrimage
from his home in the lower desert. His age was in dispute, some claiming him to be 135 years old at the time of his death
in April, 1927.
