Description:
Handwritten letter from Shoichi Goto to Eighth Grade Class. Barrack 225B 11th St. Pomona Assembly Cent. Pomona, Cal. Dear Eight Grade Class I am veary
happy in this camp. We left Bassett and went to Covina, and the convoy to center started at about 10:47 a.m. We came around
the back and inter the camp. It was about 11:00. We had lots of fun when we were coming to camp. It is veary hot and cold
in the morning and also windy in after noon. I am veary loinsom as every in this camp. I forgot about school for long time.
I have not much friend to play with. We have lots of people in this camp that I think we are not at war. But the air raid
we had last night did made me feel like we were at war. There are lot of look-out-tower and truck around this camp. We have
Eight Mess Hall in this center. I used to work in N.O. X Mess Hall but I quit working in Mess job. That job dose not seem
to fit me. Now I have a housing and lodging job. Every day I ride an army truck and move people that are not fit for that
room. This Sunday there were lot of people visting this center and they all meet on the far west side of center. If you
want to come and see me you could come on Sunday between 3:00 and 5:00 P.M. and you have to have a permit. and send a letter
you coming. This is about all now and I still want to write to you and I want you to write many as you can. Plus, I don’t
have much time but I still like to write. Don’t worry much about me. They feed me good food but not much to get full. Well
good by. Sencerely you Shoichi Goto
