A group of prospective settlers are shown having lunch in Edgar Canyon. It was typical of Southern Pacific Railroad, in
conjunction with the Beaumont Land & Water Company to provide excursions for people in the LA area, or other large cities.
These train excursions were an attempt to draw people to the Beaumont area to settle in the new town.
