Handwritten letter from Kazue Murakishi to Afton Nance, 1943 September 2.226-9-D Poston Arizona Sept 2, 1943 Dear Mrs Nance, Thank you very much for the most interesting letters.
I am very sorry in being delayed in writing to you. I have been so busy lately because I joined the senior girl scout the
other day. As day of our duty we are teaching the children’s in our block, taking over the voluteer’s place. I have most
of the fifth grader’s in my class. I like this work very much. It keeps me on my feet anyway. As for another duty we are making
things to sell this saturday, the benefit for this is to make money for the uniform. It is going to be dark green dress.
Mrs Nance you have asked if I had some books to read, will I have couple of old books that I had so many years ago. As for
right now the library is so far that I don’t go often to get books out. You have asked if we have sewing class this year,
yes we do, I am going there during summer. None of the Palos Verdes people have not relocated yet. Mr and Mrs Hata and the
family is going to Tule Lake to join up with all their relative, in Tule Lake. (It would be next month some time.) How sad
it would be. Mrs Nance if it is to troubleson do not tire to get the gum for me. I better close now since it is time for
me to jump in bed. Would like to hear from you again. With, love Kazue Muragishi
